On the risk of sounding stupid....what are comps? LOL! We found a nice high school called Desert Vista on S. 32nd St. in Ahwatukee (85048) and a good Kyrene elementary school but we aren't sure about that neighborhood either. We keep wondering if Scottsdale is too upscale and if we would blend in or stick out like sore thumbs. We have already spoken with the principal of the schools and they seem nice and both schools got a 10 rating on greatschools.net. We also now know that we can afford $2000/month easily for a rental home. Any advice on those schools or that area would be appreciated. This is hard and frustrating doing this without being there.

Wow, I gotta tell you that paying $2000/month for a rental is pretty high. Most nice middle class homes go for $1200-1500, some are less. You don't really need to spend so much as most people don't.

Oh yeah, "comps" are comparables, otherwise listings of homes. He/she is trying to sell you a home, which by the way is against the rules. Use DM for that, plus it's unsolicited.

We need at least a 4bdrm home in a decent area and the nicer homes seem to be renting closer to $2000. Now if you or anyone else know of any other links or websites that we should be looking into feel free to PM or post here if it's allowed. I think that Gilbert would be too far of a commute to get to work but the homes are a lot cheaper...as 1 poster said someplace else it wouldn't be worth it to d/t the cost of gas.
I can say that I am getting so frustrated with this but I am gaining a lot of useful advice from all the diff topics and posts....so keep them coming please.
