Suddenly, 20 degrees seems downright warm!
Well, it's all relative of course - but it's pretty darned cold in AZ right now. Forecast for "my" neck of the woods (Benson - not that I'm there yet) is for a low of 11 tonight, a high of 33 tomorrow & a low tomorrow night of 9 (REAL cold for there - & nearly as cold overnight as Chicago). And of course it's a bit windy too (though not like Chicago) with windspeeds in the teens.

Good thing we were there LAST week - when it it in the upper 70's & some folks were swimming in the motel pool at Whetstone. THAT was REAL nice.

Sorry.
I'm loving this weather.
Walking outside into a 500 degree oven in the summer time isn't fun to me.

I'm with you. Summer heat is not nearly as bad as the cold wind that we had yesterday. I can understand why people want to move here. It must be terribly depressing living with that for months on end.

Yes months on end with no sun and frozen tundra with winds that literally bite at your skin if you are out for just a few minutes. I went to the gas pumps the other day and had forgotten my gloves back at the office. By the time I finished pumping gas my hands were frozen, turning red and numb. It only takes a few minutes for skin to freeze in these temps! Brrrrr! I hate Minnesota winters!

I don't like the summertime heat but I agree, it's worse to be cold.

There's something about this winter that's just crazy, I don't know what it is but all the terrible blizzards back east and below-freezing temperatures here, that is so abnormal.

We had nothing like that, of course, but last night while we were out putting blankets on the plants you could actually feel the sting in your face from the cold wind.

What I don't like is this up and down weather pattern we're in, which is somewhat typical of a La Niña season. December started out cold, then warm, then a freezing spell toward the last part of the month. January began with below freezing temperatures, then warm, and now it's below freezing again. This is the third time this winter we've had freeze warnings, and it's getting ridiculous.

What's even worse is how dry it's been ... and windy! I know now what they mean in the colder climates when they complain about the wind chill. I can tolerate cold temperatures to a point, but when the wind is strong, it goes right through you. I hope this is the last cold spell we get. We could really use some milder weather and lots of rain at this point!
