I guess this is one of those, does working make you happier anywhere, but specifically pertaining to this area. Put aside money considerations and pretend you didn't have to work. Would work alone make you a happier person living here?

I do think we are much happier here working. Too hot to garden right now, so I think we would get a little bored during the heat.

It depends on your personality. But naturally humans are social creatures. I think if you didn't have to work, doing something where you're interacting with others - will give you a certain type of satisfaction. Also, because Phoenix is so spread out, it helps with feeling less like you're alone (especially if you didn't grow up here or have family here).

Yes, the heat is not motivating like the cold, so in the summer especially, it would help to have a schedule and accomplish some stuff.

I agree-- the heat makes me feel tired and lazy, like every day is a vacation. I feel I could be more productive if it was colder outside.

Yes, I think so. When I was staying home with my daughter while we were in Tucson several years ago I was going nuts during the summer. No one to talk to all day, can't go outside. I had no problem before she was born, and I was working full time. It does depend on your personality, and whether you have friends/family in the area as mentioned above.

Well I dont know that working, in general will make you happier anywhere, but it does help keep your mind off of some negative things that might otherwise preoccupy your time.
