I work from home quite a bit, so Vonage is the best deal for my high-volume long-distance calling. DirecTV has reasonable rates, quality picture, and lots of HD content. I do like my Cox high-speed internet. I pay $146 for all 3, which I figured to be a better value than the Cox $99 bundle PLUS my other options.
I have the Unlimited Long Distance included in my bundle with Cox Communications, Artvandelay.

Never a problem and I believe only about Ten Bucks a month extra.

Ten bucks is pretty good for unlimited. Do you have a higher tier of cable programming, or HD? This is where I believe the bundle price went up a bit. I think I was quoted at $158 for the channels/plans I wanted.

FYI, I hear Cox is adding On-Demand to their cable, which is awesome. I had that with Comcast in Chicago, and it makes having the premium channels more worth it, as you can watch many, not all, cable and premium shows whenever you want.

I don't care for Satellite TV because it's susceptible to weather changes. This is particularly true in the summer during monsoon season. We have not had any probles with Cox in regards to outtages. I can count maybe 2 outtages and they lasted no more than an hour. The other problem with Satellite and Dish Network is the remote control and changing channels is a pain. I hate that delay you get when trying to change channels and their remote controls are not as user friendly as the ones Cox provides. The Cox bundles save you a lot of money including the ones with DVR's. The HD service is great. Most of the channels I watch are in HD.

I'm content with the channels I receive with Cox. I don't need 900 channels on South African basketweaving. I get the channels I want and I subscribe to Netflix so I get the movies I want as well. I think reliability and price are more important to me and Cox offers those advantages over Satellite and Directv.

Service with Cox has been great. If there is an outtage to any of your services, they reimburse you for that time lost, no questions asked. And they usually have next day service. Also, their technical support is great. They are all American so you will never have to be concerned with failing to understand someone with a strong accent from a foreign country. You don't have to wait an hour to talk to someone and they will often offer free computer and networking advice.

I have used Direct Tv from Dell City Texas, Kingman Az, Forest Hills Calif and up into Washington the state then Browns Park Colorado. Sure there is at times a black out but not like in the old days.

Currently running a 5 lnb dish with dvr HDTV and it is tuned very well. no problems with this setup. I also have Direct on Demand which utilizes the internet for downloading programs plus it is tied into my home network and we can view photos/videos and and play music from my pc out in the living room on the tv.
I don't have cox up here but would be surprised if it can do what direct tv can do if you order the correct receiver.

Do a google and you can find a forum on there website plus there is another I use as well.

None of the "heavy-duty" stuff, Artvandelay . . . just the Basic Cable Plus (I believe that's the proper term) which is plenty for me since I'm not a big TV nut but I have had the same bundle for about 5 or 6 years now.

The total is just under 100 bucks a month but very possibly it isn't being offered now.

I have Cox cable and have never had a problem with it. As someone else mentioned, the very intuitive when it comes to the remote/menus which I like...I as well hate the delay when changing channels/menus with DISH. We pay $203 a month right now for cable and internet, but that's all the premium channels, two HD DVR boxes. I did a comparison with DISH and it was about $20 less a month, but there were actually out of pocket costs for the equipment (wanted two HD DVRs) plus they do a whole credit check and contract deal which I didn't like. Also, we don't have a landline and they wanted extra for that to run it through a cell network.

Cox has been very reliable for us, both cable and internet. The only downsides are the limited HD content but they are supposed to be adding 50+ HD channels by the end of the year plus On Demand.
