My husband and I recently moved to Tartesso. We chose Tartesso for the convenience of having an elementary school close to our home for our youngest child. We were disappointed, to say the least, when we heard that it was not opening this school year. As for our oldest child, we were aware that he would be attending Tonopah Valley High School, however we were unaware of how academically limited they are. Are there any other parents in Tartesso that have the same concerns? We would appreciate any advice that you may have on this topic. Thank you.

I'm sorry that things aren't working out for you school-wise. But I gotta tell you that virtually every elementary school is within a neighborhood all over the valley. There are countless subdivisions with a school in the middle for easy access. So, it's not just Tartesso all the way out there. Good luck and hope it gets better.

There are several parents who use Welcome to Connections Academy to homeschool their kids. They provide books, supplies etc for free. Another option is trying to get your child into another school under "open enrollment" laws. I think we should all band together as parents and do something to "encourage" the school district to raise the bar on education out here. I was disapointed too.
