Yeah, better wait another 2 years for all those "Creeks"! Queen Creek is the poster child of the housing bust in AZ and as I can see this Cave Creek is at about the same distance from the core metro. Unless there's something particularly special about it I don't know about... I don't live in PHX. Let's see what other people have to say.

Actually Tatum Ranch and Tatum Highlands are in the city of Phoenix. All services are provided by Phoenix, .i.e. water, police, sewer etc. (Cave Creek sounds cooler)
They do have a Cave Creek mailing address, but are not in the city of Cave Creek. No big deal, it is a great location and I am really happy that I moved up here 10 years ago. Right now there are a ton of houses for sale and you could get yourself a bargain. The market will come back and you will be glad you did. I have lived in Phoenix for 56 years and this is the best location (for me) that I have ever lived at. I love it here. Hope that helps. Last edited by paulnick; 08-13-2007 at 11:59 AM. |

What Is It About Cave Creek? I Have Only Been Doing My Research Via Internet And Cave Creek Stands Out. We Have Always Had 2 To 16 Acres At Our Homes And Cave Creek Seems A Bit More Rural And Open Than Other Areas Of Phoenix. The Homes I Have Seen Are On The High Priced End. We Don't Want To Spend A Fortune 250-300k Tops Or Lease /purchase Option. It Seems There Are Quite A Few Of The Lease/purchase Options In Cave Creek. Is There A Reason Maybe? Anyone With Tips Or Advice Would Be Great!!

Have you looked into New River? It is very far out (north of Cave Creek), but you can still get good prices on acreage. A lot of people from the town of Cave Creek that feel their rural way of life is being encroached upon are moving out there. You have to be very careful where you buy in New River as the zoning is helter skelter....but you could sure get more for your money. It really is very far out though, so be warned. Good luck. |

Tatum Ranch and Tatum Highlands are both great family communities. You are 5-10 minutes from Desert Ridge, Loop 101 and the 51. It used to feel much farther out than it does now. When the market turns back up, Tatum Ranch and the Highlands will bounce back. If you had seen that area 2 years ago you'd have found that nothing stayed on the market for more than a few days!
