Default Here comes the heat!!!

Looks like the chilly June weather we have been having is going to get a little more seasonal. Temps bump over 110 tomorrow, 1-teens mid-week and this coming Monday has a 115 predicted in the new forecast from the NWS.

Just saw the local news in Tucson. They said 109 or 110 for here on Wed. and Thurs. Isn't that supposed to be YOUR weather, friend? C'mon down, I'll be able to serve fried green tomatoes right off my vines. You can cook the burgers on the hood of your car.

At some point you just know it's an oven. You stop paying attention to any weather forecasts. You just know it's an oven and that's about it. You just fall into a trance and say...sometime in October maybe.

Weather.com shows 110 on Wednesday but down to 105 on Monday...quite the difference from 115 but that is for zip code 85083 not at the airport where the official temp is taken.

For the official temp, they are showing 113 on Wednesday and 110 on Monday. Never realized that it's such a big difference between the two...guess there are some advantages to living on the fringes.

Hummm... It's POURING in MN. Forecast calls for rain, rain, and more rain. So I just booked a flight this AM to Phoenix. Problem solved.

115 degrees. Here I come!

I think weather.com is not using the same model or they have not updated. I used NWS because they are local and have the benefit of experience to apply to the models. The forecast discussion from NWS says there is not complete agreement and they went with the hotter one. There is little difference between highs across the valley with Buckeye being one or two degrees higher than PHX and Cave Creek one or two below. At night the outlying areas cool significantly more than the airport area does, though.

This mornings NWS forecast shaves a degree off of Monday to a more reasonable 114.

In any case, it we have (by NWS) a solid week or more of 110-ish temps ahead of us. Not record heat, but a change to more normal from the nice June we have had so far.
