Default How is this area in Phoenix

Does anybody know how bad this area is and perhaps this specific townhouses? It's not on the West side of downtown but i don't know if that means it's any better or not. Thanks

that would be at approx McDowell....not a horrible rep at all, but sorta an average, older area with mixed housing around....borders between nicer areas to the N and pretty crappy S of there....certainly a convenient location to central Phx....just my opinion....others may have something to say....don't know the specific townhouses you're asking about....

This is not a great neighborhood. It's gone downhill in the last 15 years or so, not any good shopping close by. You'd have to go a couple miles north to get nicer. I'd look elsewhere.

I concur that you should go a bit north, at least north of Thomas (2900 N 32nd) or further. Northeast (2900 N 40th street) gets you closer to a lot more shopping as well as a better area

Scope out the area yourself during the day and at night and reach your own conclusions about the area. On here you'll get different opinions and you can never tell who will think the same as you.

I know someone that lives in a residential area just south of McDowell off of 26th St not far from your listed address. He's lived there many years and has had no issues. He drives around and walks that area at night.

You're in between McDowell and Thomas on 32nd St in the vicinity of Palm LN.
It would be better if your were north of Thomas but the best thing to do is drive around the
immediate neighborhood and note the condition of adjacent properties. If it is mostly gentrified
you're OK.

I pretty much agree with what has been said...it's a bit suspect. A mile or so north it is nicer, a bit south gets sketchy. I wouldn't call it ghetto.

The fact that YOUR own question stated "Does anybody know how bad this area is" pretty much says it all. You already know the answer, right?

Not a good area. Many times, I have used 32nd Street as an alternate route around the 51 or 202 freeways during heavy traffic times. Basically, the area around 32nd Street & McDowell is a lower class section ... and you can tell from the type of businesses around there: seedy bars, strip clubs, check cashing/loan centers, etc. It gradually starts to get better the further north you go along 32nd Street.
