On the Fourth of July, I noticed that almost all the houses on the block (NW Mesa near University) had identical US flags and poles placed just behind the sidewalk in front of each home. There were also some more of these in other parts of town.

Were they perhaps sold or provided by a Scout troop, or veterans or civic group of some sort? I'm wondering where they came from. The poles were probably just one-inch diameter aluminum or light steel, about eight feet tall, flags were probably about three feet on the fly or a smidge bigger. Pat

A Facebook friend said that in his neighborhood they are provided by a local Scout troop, which sets them up and takes them down, presumably on certain holidays.
