I am looking to purchase a home in East Francis Lane which is very close to East Pecos Road. According to a map, there is a railway nearby and an airport. Is noise a concern in this area?

I think that's Cooley Station right near the high school. The train runs through there approx 4 times daily. It can go through around 4-6 am, and due to it's speed and crossing streets it has to blow it's whistle.

People who live there get used to it, and say they don't hear it any more.

The airport does have some jets landing and taking off, so it will create some noise.

You should knock on the doors of the neighbors of that house and ask several of them how they feel about the noise. Ask several because you want several opinions.

You may have to go there several times to get a good feel for how the noise will affect you. Everyone has a different tolerance to noise.
How is the noise level inside the house?
How is the noise level outside the house?

Make sure before you buy that you do enough research to be certain that you'll be happy there.

It is a good popular community. In fact all the communities along that railroad are good.
