formerly a red-neck, western-ish, very small settlement, it has become one of the more expensive suburbs of Phx due in part to it's proximity to nearby upscale Carefree.....it has also greatly expanded its city limits into areas many consider part of N Phx (S of Carefree Hwy - check a city limits map).....

the "new" areas of Cave Creek have the usual strip shopping centers....old Cave Creek (along CC Rd after it swings E into "downtown" N of Black Mountain) has artsy stores, western kitsch, and maybe a feed store or two....nearby Carefree and N Scottsdale take care of the upscale stuff shoppers may find need for.....

sorry, know nothing about the schools....

many new subdivisions in the new part of CC S of Carefree Hwy along Cave Creek Rd and far N Tatum Blvd....I suppose the people are normal in them....lots of pink-tile roofs and cookie-cutter homes in those areas....have to drive for anything, usually.....it all used to be desert 20 years ago.....

yes, it's considered a "good area".....but check comps, look around, bargain hard, the usual.....if you can swing it, I'd go for the old part of CC just to have something different from a sea of sameness.....

I suppose rent might be a little above average because of the decent location.....

gas would be the same as all over the valley.....if you're a member of Costco, there's one on the SE corner of 101 and CC, in a block or two from CC....AMPM Arco is also cheap for gas, but you need cash or something...no credit cards.....

are you going to be working here?....there are many, many areas of the valley to choose from besides CC.....

spend time and look around before committing....many choices.....
