Your Realtor cannot really say anything bad about areas. I would suggest that you see and drive these areas before making any decisions. In Phx you are best to stay more towards the East side. Also not too far South. Since you have a child be sure to check the Sex Offender web site to be sure there isn't a pervert nearby. Its not 100% foolproof as they are "Supposed" to register but who knows. Other areas which can be good are Scottsdale (overpriced), some parts of Tempe that are not around the university, and Auwatukee, and Anthem.

That house could definitely be an option too but there are no pics. I like to see pictures before hand, so I know that it's worth the time to go have a look at the property.

I found this house today: 4231 E Mountain Sage Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85044 MLS# 4484236 - Zillow

Pretty nice!

Watch out for the rush hour traffic that can back up at Dobson and Ray, if you're going to move into that area and find yourself traveling around that intersection. Anyway, be sure to get yourself an ASU parking permit for a garage next to biodesign.

Thanks, this is exactly the kind of info that is very useful for us. Well, if the realtor wont tell the truth then we better rely on a forum like this. We really like Scottsdale but the houses are expensive and renting there seems to be 2-300 dollars (if not more) more than a house the same size elsewhere. For now, the kid will just be in daycare so we are not too worried about school districts yet.

Ahwatukee was one of my favorite parts of town when we visited in spring. I'd definitely like to live there.

Thank you for posting such useful info.
