This is great, especially for those of us in the East Valley. I probably live equidistant between Williams field and sky harbor, but with less parking hassles and less of a security line, this would be much faster. I hate driving to Vegas because its a boring drive and the drive home is dreadful, so this is great news. One could probably leave their home in the EV and be on the ground in Vegas in less than 2 hours.

Right now Allegiant Air has a great special. You can fly round trip for $25! After taxes and fees it is about $60 per person round trip, of course it depends on what days you fly to and come back from Vegas!

Are these small jets or propellar planes?

Here's the answer to a couple of questions posed above. According to the Phoenix Business Journal dated 9/26 the flights will be to McCarran International, the main Las Vegas airport. The type of craft isn't listed but they show a small commuter jet in the article. Allegiant's fleet is all jet aircraft, primarily McDonnel Douglas MD-82's and 83's.

"Allegiant will use a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route." from the phx biz article

the $12.99 one-way fare is available on only about ten or fifteen various days before the end of the year, according to their website calendar....I can understand their being tight with the big discount, but I don't understand the additional $27 or so in fees and taxes per each leg....seems higher than normal....I do know there're facility fees, security fees and taxes, but I think this adds up to only about $12 or so per leg on Southwest and others to LV....

so a $12.99 per way flight becomes about $78 or so round trip total....not a screaming deal anymore, but not bad....

found out the answer to my question above.........

Allegiant charges an $18 per person fee to book online (!)...and also charges to book by phone.....the only way to avoid the fee is go to the airport in person
