I cannot disagree. Anywhere like Malibu, Oceanside or Beverly Hills would far surpass anywhere in Arizona. However, the poll was limited to the Phoenix metropolitan area so I chose Paradise Valley.

I was one hour south of Big Sur and one hour north of Santa Barbara ON the ocean and I STILL moved here......... the 'lull' of the Central Coast got to me after nearly a decade.......... time to get living again ~ my vote of where to live would also be anywhere in a multi-million dollar home up on a mountain with magnificent views.... these seem to be literally all over the place... preferably not Fountain Hills - I worked there as a chef for a time - perhaps a little bit too much like where I just moved from... I liked it well enough - but in the end decided against it. I like looking at the homes on-line - the ones that start at the low end of 2 million.... up to a few times that.... Much rather do that here in the valley of the sun - than the foggy coast :-)

I would like to live in Litchfield Park, in a custom-built home with lots of shadetrees and a manicured lawn next to a lake or country club.

Size-wise, Litchfield Park is more of my cup of tea, smaller and greener.

I think there are quite a few people who don't know where the Phoenix city lines are drawn. A lot of what people think is Paradise Valley, is Phoenix. Paradise Valley mall is in Phoenix (85032) and just on the other side of Tatum...is Scottsdale.

Fountain Hills is too remote for me. With PV, I'd feel like I had to drive a distance to reach anywhere I'd want to go (but I guess if I could afford to live there...driving wouldn't matter). And Scottsdale would be my 2nd choice after Phoenix, but I definitely like the older areas in Scottsdale. I'd never choose Carefree.

I really like Carefree. The air is cleaner, and it's cooler, and I like the desert. I really do like the landscape also, and the ability to do a lot of outdoor activities. The views from homes west of Tom Darlington (Hawk's Nest, Stagecoach Pass, etc) are great. I might live there right now if it wasn't so far from everything. I'm a snowbird, but I have business in downtown and fly in and out a lot. The distance from Sky Harbor is a factor.

Previously lived in North Scottsdale (inside the 101 loop), but was dragged against my wishes to Ahwatukee, then settled on downtown. I'd move back to North Scottsdale anytime. It's remote enough, but close enough.

Apparently you are one of the people that does not know where the boundaries are. On the other side of Tatum...is more Phoenix. The area that you are calling Scottsdale is in the city of Phoenix with a Scottsdale mailing address.

North Peoria/North Glendale/NW Phoenix, nestled against a hill with mountain views. Skies are blue, even in winter, and there's no freeway or airport smog like the South, Central, and East Valley. Sonoran Mountain Ranch, Pyramid Heights, Stetson Valley, West Wing, or Stetson Hills are all great neighborhoods that give you a feeling of solitude as you come home. Great outdoor recreation opportunities - hiking trails abound, and Lake Pleasant is just minutes away. Hopefully the new 303 loop to the north will not cause this area to become smog-infected like the rest of the Valley.

p.s. Why are all the polling options in the EAST Valley (if you include Phoenix)? There's a heck of a lot more to the Valley than that.

I'd have to say FH as well! Love the views from there.

I would go to far north Scottsdale above the 101. Very pretty but not ridiculously far from everything I want access to.
