Just curious.

I currently live in Scottsdale but if I could afford to move anywhere and without regard to where I work, it'd be in Fountain Hills.

I'd absolutely LOVE a hillside home in FH, I've toured a couple over the years and they're awe-inspiring. I seriously considered purchasing one before I bought my current place but with where my job is located, the commute would've killed me.

I guess maybe when I retire...IF I ever retire that is...

I notice the choices are all east side. I would live in north Peoria in the hills near Lake Pleasant. If I can't have that I would stay where I am in the Estrella foothills. Would not move back to the east valley for love or money.

Paradise Valley all the way. Definitely the nicest part of the valley and centrally located.

Exactly where I am - Fountain Hills!!!

I've lived in PV, Scottsdale, various spots in Phoenix and Ahwatukee. FH is by far, the best place for me!

Commute would always be a bigger factor for my wife and me than finances. We're not rich, but I'd consider myself very poor, regardless of income, if my quality of life suffered because of a long commute. That's one of the reasons I moved out here from the DC area. I work from home here, whereas I had to be in the office in downtown DC every day. And my wife now has a 10 min. commute, whereas she also worked in downtown DC before. That was at least an hour each way in normal traffic.

Does Paradise Valley mean the TOWN of PV, or whatever definition/boundaries you are thinking of in terms of the loosely defined part of Phoenix (some with a Scottsdale ZIP code) that is called "Paradise Valley"?

I'd probably choose someplace near the Tempe/Scottsdale border in a classic mid-century modern home on a large well-foliaged lot. Although I can certainly appreciate the space and killer views found in Fountain Hills!

Am I allowed to vote for where I already live?

There may be better places than here, but since I don't know about them I'll just vote FH.

Yeah, the views are pretty sweet.

I have three choices all in Phoenix proper:

I like the north central corridor. Near where I am now but in the one of the multi million dollar homes just down the street. I like the neighborhoods just off of Central (either side) between Bethany and Northern.

I like the area between Camelback and Missouri east of 20th Street and west of 24th Street (just west of the Biltmore).

And there are several sections of Arcadia that I like.
