I see most houses do not have basements. Do they have attics?? Where do you guys put extra things??

Will need a garage. See most have them. Ours will have a car in it at all times. Are storage units what is needed ?

Thanks.

We actually do something unusual, I guess. We get rid of stuff we don't need.

Boxes of stuff we do HAVE to keep (legal papers, a few items of sentimental value, etc) - most homes do have at least on large closet, or a corner of the garage, or garage cabinets.

We keep the seasonal junk and luggage etc in the "attic" - the truss space above the garage.

Some people do major investments in garage cabinets and storage. You may be able to find a rental where the owner did that before he got foreclosed.

Three car garages can work too. 3 car garages get grabbed up quickly in my area, though.

There is a storage facility about every other mile in the metro, too.

Our prior home had a two car garage for a two car family. We "invested" in some garage storage cabinets. Total cost: $595 plus tax including install.

I wonder if garage storage has a good payback come time of sale. It sure catches my eye when looking at houses .
