Ok, I'm curious about the "rude people" in PHX ... (Phoenix: schools, living)

Well I made a post about this before.Like I said I live in San Diego and when the PHX people come into the area they are the rudest people here.Worse than the LA people in my opinion and the opinion of others.

Phoenix people are far ruder and inconsiderate than LA people. I've come to the conclusion that the rumors and myths of LA rudeness were invented by jealous Arizona people who can't afford to live in LA and have a complex about it.
I want to say that I am from Los Angeles (where there is nothing but traffic 24hours a day nowadays) and the drivers in Phoenix/Scottsdale/etc are VERY rude compared to L.A. drivers. At least, in my experience.
Just 2 days ago my husband were driving on the 101 in Scottsdale and we were going a steady 65 because of the speed cameras. We were in the fast lane and there was a car right next to us going about the same speed. This guy in a big pickup comes up on us fast and starts tailgaiting us. My husband couldn't get over to let him by without speeding up, and then we would have got caught by the upcoming cameras. Finally, the other car gets over and the truck quickly comes up next to us and the guys flicks us off. I kind of threw up my hands like "what do you want?". I mean hello, speed cameras! We're not getting a ticket because you're in a hurry. Then, he rolls down his windows and starts yelling profanities at us left and right. And kind of swerves close to us in a theatening manner (his truck was a lot bigger than what we were driving). They he took off down the freeway fast and got off at the next exit around Shea...right before the speed camera could get him.
I have never in my life experienced anything like that in Los Angeles. Granted, there is too much traffic here for that but still. lol
Can't we all just get along???? Geeze, the hatred is so thick in here, you can cut it with the proverbial knife! I just hope by the time I move to AZ, all the rude, obnoxious and ignorant people (the ones WHO DON'T live in Scottsdale) have left the state!
Look, the only types of people I hate are Yankees and illegal immigrants, nobody else. Even with liberals, its just the ones from up north who are actually drooling with arrogance and pomposity, not the working class kind of Democrats you find elsewhere in the country. I grew up in a snobby area filled with NY area transplants, and spent four years in college in an area surrounded by illegal aliens.
You may think I'm narrow-minded but at least I say "New YOrkers" when so many people I work with now will say the same things and blame it on "Jewish people". Many of the snobby transplants to my area are Jewish but not all and at least I know the poor reputation of Yankees is well deserved regardless of their religion or ethnicity. The Jewish people who are native to Maryland are just as wonderful, gracious people as anyone else who is native to here. Just about every single Yankee I've met both inside and outside of their region is an a__hole and they coem here with their unpleasant, domineering, and patronizing attitudes. If anything how the Yankees and Californians treat the South and the Mountain states is like the British in India and Africa during the old imperialist days. They come here and dominate our economies, or they go South to the beach and treat the locals like crap like we are scum.
So many people from my old high school would talk about "rednecks" or "hicks" but that doesn't prevent them from going to beach towns or going skiing in the mountains in West Virginia, a state they especially look down on. Please don't judge me because you haven't had the experiences I or my friends and family have had with certain people.
My feelings come completely from personal experience. I simply want to find your average, down to Earth, typical Middle American kind of place, either in the suburbs or in a smaller town. I have nothing against Texans, Southerners, Midwesterners, legal immigrants, Republicans or whoever else.
I think you'd be happier in some small town in the South where the population is more homogeneous than in a large city where there are a lot of transplants from many countries (not just illegals) and many different states. A small southern town is more likely to have people who speak the same kind of English, prefer the same kind of food, music, attire, and practice the southern pleasantries that you mentioned earlier.
Areas that are growing by leaps and bounds such as the triangle in North Carolina, Charleston, NC, Atlanta and the like are probably ill suited for you because all those places are experiencing a large influx of Northerners.
A few years ago, the company I used to work for sent me to Anniston, AL for a couple of months. I think you'd like it. It's a small town between Birmingham and Atlanta. It's close enough to Atlanta in case you want to do some upscale shopping, or catch a show or major sporting event. Also, check out the AL city-data forum. There are some postings on Anniston.
I really don't think you'd be happy in Phoenix. In the Phoenix metropolitan area there are a lot of bilingual Mexican-Americans (that have been here for generations) who are quite legal, but there are also illegal immigrants from Mexico as well as Central America. You'll hear a lot of Spanish being spoken here. Since it is so hard to ascertain the immigration status of people just by looking at them, the sheer numbers of hispanics in the area might annoy you. There are also a lot of people here from New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Minnesota, California, Washington state, etc. None of that bothers me in the least. I love to hear different accents. I love to pick up words in different languages, and study different cultures. After reading some of your posts, I don't think Phoenix would be your cup of tea.
I kindly suggest you consider Anniston. Good luck in your search.

I am guessing, those were the East Coast transplants that did not fit in here and moved to So Cal.

I beg to differ, yes there are some jerks and uncivilized type elements here but it is very unfair for you to put the nice people who are in majority along with the bad ones in the same basket!
Besides, I used to live in OC, there is nothing even remotely attractive about living in LA so don't go tossing insults just because you live in LA and I chose to live in Phoenix. People have one or two bad incidents with a few people and so easily label the entire city/State under the same derogatory statement.

I won't argue that the drivers (at least in certain parts of the valley) are a lot more aggressive and ignorant than the ones in the parts of CA I used to live in but next time you on a road/freeway and worried about cameras, speed posts, cops, etc. do not be on the far left lane, stay in the middle lane if possible that way you will not impede the traffic of those unpleasant characters and possibly prevent occorunces like this. This is just a tip for you because, with all due respect, you drive the posted speed limit on a Orange County freeway and people will be flipping you in 5 different languages, if you know what I mean?

I hear that they are trying to get rid of them all by relocating them to San Diego, CA....lol
this city really sucks and i regret so much moving up here, people here are rude and mean and of course this city is full of violence and thieves that stole my car from my house and that dont respect you and don't know how to drive either ,hopefully next year i will be moving back to Texas where i should have never left and should have stayed!

When did I say I live in LA? I'm stuck in this *hole with the rest of you. Believe me, if I could afford to pack up and move to a nice part of LA or OC I'd be there tomorrow but until I can afford that I'm stuck in Scottsdale. It is a pleasure to visit there though because I'm always astonished at how courteous people are compared to Snottsdale.
