Does anyone frequent the Margaret T Hance park? Thinking about running with my dog mornings before work (before sunrise). Is it a relatively safe place during dark hours?

I see a lot of people running, walking dogs, etc. There seems to be a concentration of homeless folks under the Central Ave. bridge, but I am not aware of them causing anybody any problems.
