Since the o/p asked for comparisons between Mesa and Chandler, let's not revisit the neverending battle between Chandler and Gilbert in this thread, please.

Well, the good thing about Freeman Farms in Gilbert is that it is about midway between two indoor malls (Chandler Fashion Center in Chandler, and Superstition Springs Center in Mesa), and neither is too far away.

And yet, it's in Gilbert. Back to topic, please.

To the OP.... there are already lots of threads to read about these two cities... don't forget to use the search function up at the top of the forums (you can use the advanced search and narrow your search to more recent info) and make use of all that information as well. Good luck!

Default rental agency sent me to a bad street in Chandler

It was a side street near Ray near a Supersavers food store. Not too nice.

I'm not familiar with a grocery store by that name. Do you recall the cross streets?

Mesa can't compare to Chandler or gilbert IMHO.
Very well-written.

Chandler has a few run-down areas but what city doesn't? Most of the city is pretty diverse but clean and safe too.

I certainly didn't have any problems when I lived there.

me either, and it's gotten a lot nicer in since I left 5 years ago. Especially the chandler blvd and arizona ave section, that area has become beautiful.

I could NOT believe the bars on the windows, and general feel just a block or so off the main road?
