Destination wedding coming up near downtown ASU campus, any recommendations on where to stay? How about the Ice House, anyone attend an event there? Thanks Marty D

Budget please?

And have you checked with the wedding party? They often arrange for a block of rooms at a discount price.

The hotels inside the I-10, I-17/US60 square are going to be closest in proximity to campus. You can read reviews, and check prices:

I like that Holiday Inn at 3rd Ave and Osborn on the LightRail. The two Hiltons are nice, and truly Downtown I would consider Monte Vista Hotel (historic) with the Ghost Bar.

^You mean the San Carlos? The Monte Vista is in Flagstaff.

Hyatt, Westin, Sheraton, Wyndham--all are nice hotels in downtown.

I did not like the San Carlos staff when I went in with a few friends. They seemed annoyed at everyone who walked in the front door, which seems to be something unique to some boutique hotels that I have stayed in across the country.

If you are on a tight budget, there are some other nearby hotels that are pretty nice also, but more along the fringes of downtown, or near Central along the light rail.

I think most everybody has mentioned the major hotels downtown. The Hyatt would certainly be one to check out, especially with the Compass Room's revolving restaurant on top. All of the major hotels are decent ... however, downtown Phoenix's selection of hotels is rather limited, which is very unfortunate. Most of the well known resorts and top rated hotels are in Scottsdale.
