Default Uh I thought Phoenix was supposed to be warm?

Didn't actually see it come down and it may just be a crapload of hail, but it looked like snow from the car. It was 38 degrees out when I drove through.

This was at Happy Valley Rd & Lake Pleasant Pkwy by the way.

This is about as cold as it gets!! Infact, it doesn't even snow in Payson every year, but yesterday there was a lot of snow in Payson, which is only an hour and a half drive from Phoenix, so its freeeeeeeeeezing here today!!

I've probably forgotten it, but right now I can't remember a cold stretch where it was less than 60 degrees for the high for as long as this one has been and is forecast to continue. Brrrrr. Kinda nice, though, in a chilling sort of way.

As I was at the supermarket yesterday down here - I kept commenting to every "out of state" plate (i.e. winter vistors) - "I imagine you are thinking on days like this - why did I come out here?!".

Yes, yes - I know it isnt as bad as midwest etc....but while walking to car in 40 degree weather with rain - every one of the people laughed with me!

P S - I do think 2011 has been a VERY strange weather year - back in January we had those lows down in the LOW 20s here in CG (broke pipes and everything!) - then the record breaking heat of the summer - and now this somewhat long stretch of pretty cold weather (not supposed to get back over 60 for about a week!) this early in December. WIERD!

Thankfully I have yet to encounter anything like the weather in those pics. Hung around Roosevelt Row last night. Just cold and rainy.

November sure was nice. I didn't use the heat until Thanksgiving. Second lowest electric bill of the year. I wore a ski jacket yesterday afternoon, and it was a bit much.

I actually don't find it too bad out right now even though it's 46º, in the sun it's not bad at all. I was just out in the garage with the garage door open shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops and no problem.

Not bad at all. I was just outside, too, doing some yardwork. T-shirt and shorts and totally comfortable.

One thing I told myself when I moved from Oregon last June. "I never want to be cold again".
I know I have only been here for a few months but I'll take those 110 degree days over this although the weather lately still isn't as bad as where I came from. At least it's sunny. Gotta love that.......
