Since you're out east, how about the Mining Camp Restaurant? You can enjoy a real western Christmas! My son recently ate there, and said it was very good.

I was back home in Phoenix alone on Thanksgiving. Had a DR appointment the day after but was canceled but my air fare was solid and to change plans to visit relatives would have been costly. So I was alone for TG. While at the gate to await my flight to Phoenix a lady referred me to Mimi's cafe for a single dinner and it was to go. It cost me $20 and was very reasonable I think. As I picked it up, I noticed a few people at the counter for singles. Either waiting for their To Go or eating. Whatever. I rate Mimi's better than Boston Market. Not as good as my late mother's cooking, but it was great for someone who wanted to eat turkey and the trimmings alone at home. Same deal should probably be offered on solstice celebration.

Another good option, Mr. Roark!

We did Mimi's last year as a takeout thing with our eldery neighbors.

Pssst....I smoked a 12 lb bird that day just for the helluvit....

Also.....Bobby Q's does the whole shebang for take out......

I think that ifya take out or go out.....

You can usually find that the cost is relatively the same as if ya host a Get-together.

Factor in the time with prep & cleaning.

And I'm sure that Y'all know.....there's a lot of time spent preppin' & cleanin'.

Golden Corral Buffet was open for Thanksgiving. Don't know if there are any in the East Valley. Less than $15 with free refills. Pretty good selection - especially if they have the Chocolate dipping station (YUM). Thanksgiving is a little different than Christmas so check local availability.

Country Buffet. Not sure if they're in the East Valley too. Think they're around 15-16 bucks/person.

Can anybody comment on the food at the casino buffets?

For others looking for similar information, I just found this site :

Restaurants Open on Christmas - Christmas Buffet - Eating Out on Christmas Day in Phoenix and Scottsdale
That's not a bad price for the 4 Seasons.
