Default Glendale, 55th and Northern Ave, safe area or no?

Found an apartment near 55th and Northern in Glendale with nice acomodations and reasonable rent but not sure about the surrounding area.
Is this a safe location? Parts of it look okay and other parts not so much.

Typical older neighborhood with good pockets and bad pockets. The bad areas tend to be around the apt. complexes.

I vote "NO" on that location. Depends on price and distance to work.

Thanks for the responses.
I like the apartment I looked at and will probably move in because of how reasonable the rent is. I'm only living here in Arizona right now because of family medical issues. Will probaby be out of here by summer hopefully.

That area isn't too bad off. It's an established area that's close to almost everything. It's fairly close to some bad areas, but has managed to stay in pretty good shape. If it's a good deal and you like the apartment, I'd say go for it. Do not go any further east or south of there for your search, though.

It's pretty suburban through there, but older suburbia, so it's very established. I wouldn't say there's too much happening there, and not much to brag about, but it serves a purpose, and it's mostly middle class ... so it should be relatively safe. Just remember: no location is absolutely perfect.
