I have an update to my last reply. As I had mentioned, my husband and I had been looking at Trend Homes, for a while now (8-10 months), not only in Tartesso but also out in Cortessa. We finally, after a phone call we received saying they had slashed their spec home prices, opted for a home in their Andalucia community, which had up to $125,000 worth of upgrades, for $499,950. Well, they pulled the old bait and switch and after we had left a deposit and signed their Lot Hold Agreement they told us, only after we called back a few times to ask for an appointment to their Design Center, that we weren't getting $37,000+ worth of upgrades. We talked to their Sales Manager and CEO, Reed Porter, who told us pretty much, we're sorry we made a mistake, but I'm not willing to eat up the difference. The problem was we forewent other opportunities to purchase another one of their spec homes, at that price, because of the information they presented to us and later changed, even though we had a spec sheet with stated upgrades. We've reported them to the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General's Office and are thinking of taking legal actions. I've since found out that they apparently have a track record of doing this, because I've found some other dissatisfied customers, who they pulled similar schemes on. JUST BE VERY CAREFUL and GOOD LUCK!

I am new to Phoenix, moved her from Italy as I am Air Force. My realtor is a retired Cheif Master Seargent in the Air Force and told me about Tartesso and Trend Homes. Before we went to Tartesso we looked a a number of other places around the valley. When my wife and I got to Tartesso we like the desert and and the entrance to the community. We looked at all of the other builders first and then Trend Homes. According to my realitor this was to get an idea of what else there was around. After all that we wanted Trend and we very impressed by there features and building construction methods. Also THE PRICE. I bought in Nov. 06 and the home is nearly complete. I have been very happy to this point of the construction with Trend and love the community lay out. Trends communitys seem to be much better put together compared to the other cookie cutter places. no were have we seem this type of planning in a modist priced area. I think that you will not find it either. Tartesso looks better each time I visit and I cann't wait to move in on June 07.

Trend just lowered their pricing in Tartesso again about a month ago. They are now selling as low as $150k.

Wow!

There was a particular Trend model we were interested at the time we built. We loved the floorplan. Unfortunately at that time the folks at Trend could not tell us whether or not they'd be putting that model in at Tartesso or not-- As it turns out, they are! Oh well.

We ended up with Horton in Sundance instead which is a lot better for us, location wise. I still think Tartesso is beautiful, though.

Don't be fooled! They are lowering prices, but they are also lowering square footage. I've seen it at a number of subdivisions that are starting back up - new models at around 1000 sf priced near 150K. With a couple of options it will price out around $160/sf, still expensive. Overall a return to smaller starters and homes in general is welcome in my opinion. It is time for the death of the the 3500 sf two story box on a postage stamp lot. They made for some of the most unprivate, awful sub-divisions in a long time.

Don't forget that the median sf has been going up over the past several years accounting for at least some of the median price increase. Maybe smaller homes will lead to greater affordability.

Default Tartesso

What I like most about Tartesso is that just next to the community that I am about to live in there is a large park going in. There will be baseball feilds, basketball courts, and tennis courts, also large areas for other things. The community is very well put together, it all is very pleasing to the eyes. When we get a grocery store put in we won't have to leave the community only for work. Got to love that. Lastly Tartesso is out there but that is what I like most.
