Tempe extends pretty far south municipality wise from ASU.

As for Mesa, Dobson Ranch is on the other side of the 101 from where I am at. Seems like a bunch of low key Mormons for the most part. Older but safe area. I do agree Mesa north of Broadway near the 101 gets a little gritty. However, nothing like some of the crap areas of NY I've seen over the years. Been over there during the daylight and didn't have a fear in the world.
you don't understand my post. Tempe has absolutely NOTHING going on for it outside of ASU and Mill (which is comprised of ASU). what is south of southern? uhhhhhhhh the Tempe Library> home of the homeless. go 2 more blocks and you're already in Chandler. hence why Tempe IS ASU.

No, we totally understand your post. We simply disagree with it. The southern part of Tempe has plenty going on - lovely homes, excellent communities, good schools, restaurants, bars, etc. Depends on what someone is looking for (which I wish the IP had more clearly defined.)

SoCalBadBoy, nearly all of your posts reflect nothing but negativity about the Valley. Perhaps you should be considering a relocation.

While entitled to your opinion, it's clear you have little or no knowledge of Tempe.

I live in Scottsdale near Old Town and the older housing areas remind me a LOT of Tempe near ASU. Me I like Tempe better near ASU since it's easier to get around without a car when down there seeing friends.

Kim's right: Tempe goes several miles south of the 60 to past Elliot.

Past Warner, actually. There's a LOT of Tempe south of the 60.

Tempe IS ASU. take Apache east into Mesa and note how quickly it goes to complete crap.
A lot of the western side of Mesa is like Tempe.

You might be surprised how many young college-aged people live in west Mesa.
