Good day all. Pretty straightforward question. Who has gone on Spirit and how cheap is it after the additional fees ? The rates to Vegas are as cheap as $20 a person each way.

Isn't the airline able to tell you the price of a ticket for a given flight?

Edit: Okay, I was curious, so I went and checked. Cheapest fare, for certain midweek flights is 19.80, "including taxes and fees".

Hello Observer. I didn't see what fees are added on such as carry on,luggage, etc. That's why I'm asking this question. With those potential fees, I'll just stay with SW Airlines in the future. Thanks.

Guess I posted before I could read your response Observer. Definitely enticing to go for an overnighter to Vegas at those rates some weekend. I also welcome an alternative to Phoenix Airport too. I see they have two airlines now at Gateway. Both seem pretty good as well as direct flights to obscure cities like Bend,OR and Tri Cities WA.

It's an awfully good price even with their baggage charge, which is here: http://www.spirit.com/optionalfees.aspx I suspect it's more than competitive with Southwest, if the airport location works better for someone.

I'm a bit bummed Reno,NV isn't one of the cities either of those two airlines service Observer. I'm a bigger fan of Reno than Vegas due to the kayaking right in downtown on the Truckee as well as better weather than Vegas. Hopefully if people throw money their way, Spirit will expand their list of cities they service.

Hope so. I like the Reno area too, in fact that's where I moved here from as a child, and I've been back several times since.

I haven't compared it with SW fees because I fly free on SW using my SW Visa card.

However, there are all kinds of fees on the Spirit list including carry on bag fees, booking fees, bag over 41 lbs, etc., so the cost could be fairly high when everything is added.
