Default Homeschool group San Tan Valley

I have been looking for a homeschool group here in San Tan Valley with no luck so far. The groups I have found online are no longer in existence. Does anyone know of one?? Even Gilbert or Queen Creek would work. Thanks for any help.

A play group? Study group? Plus, what ages are you looking for? Those would be helpful.

I have four kids ranging in age from six to fifteen. The homechool groups we have been part of over the years typically do field trips together, have park days, celebrate holidays with parties, and possibly do a co-op where the parents take turns teaching classes. A group that does any of these things for elementary schoolage kids is what we are looking for.

Yes, I did look into it. Thank you for the links. I have checked into every post I could find for groups in the area, only to find out it was old information nobody has removed from the lists. For someone moving to the area checking out homeschool websites there appears to be a ton of homeschool activities here, but once you actually try to join you find out they are no longer together.

You probably know this but your kids can take part in just select public school activities, too, like field trips, art class, PE, music, etc. But I imagine that's not the same as a home school group to do those things with.

Is there an LDS church near you? They may have resources for you.

I'm not thinking they are mormon. Most people who homeschool now a days aren't religiously doing so.

I didn't think they were Mormon, either. If they were, they'd know about the local LDS resources already. It's not that it's all church-going people that home school but it's some and the Mormons are highly organized and probably have groups all formed and happy to welcome new people.

Oh, ok but every mormon I've hung around had to either try and get me to join the church and if I didn't they couldn't hang out with me. They aren't suppose to get close to outsiders. Maybe that's changing, which would be nice.
If not though, it's the last thing a homeschool family needs to deal with.

Well, yeah, that's been my experience, too, but I figure to each their own. Maybe elizabeth's family would choose to join, or the groups she found would be less recruity/exclusive than you and I have had experience with.
