kitchen cabinets. (countertops, new house, prices)

i purchased a new house. I'm wondering how hard is it to put up own kitchen cabinets. i'm getting cherrywood cabinets , stackered , 36inches and 42inches
for 6k. I'm thinking can I get nice custom made cabinets set installed with lesser prices, coz I got lot of time with me on weekends.

A buddy and I replaced my kitchen cabinets a few years ago and since I stayed within the existing footprint, it was much less work than I anticipated. However, I did cheat and have a professional do the countertops.

We always installed our own cabinets in our spec homes in CA. It is very easy. We tried to have our builder here eliminate the cabinets so we could do custom, but they made us take them anyway.
