1. Best sit-down, family Mexican restaurant?
2. Best taco place?
3. Best burrito place/ taqueria?
4. Best Mexican seafood?
5. Best "gringo" Mexican restaurant?
PONCHO'S in PHX just north of Baseline on Central Ave is my favorite place to eat Mexican food. Running at almost a tie is GARCIAS (the family owned one) located on 35th Ave and McDowell. And if u don't mind going into a little neighborhood off 16th Street and Roosevelt there is a place there that has really great green buritos. Happy hunting.

My favorite is a little place called Juan's near 16th street and Thomas. It is just west of the intersection on the north side of Thomas. A small white building with no windows. Very inexpensive and great food. Packed at lunch time. It is a little family owned business and the same people have been working there since I started going there 5 years ago. Excellent chicken enchiladas.

No thanks! Besides, they do not have any fajitas!
The only thing I care for is fajitas! Sizzling fajitas! Yo quero fajitas?
I know this sounds crazy cause they are not considered even a gringo Mexican food restaurant but my son loves the fajitas at Chili's. They are very sizzling when you get them and I think one order is big enough to share. The one we go to is at 7th St. and Bell Road in the Target Plaza.

You are right, they are not even a 'gringo' restaurant but I do like their fajitas too! They are not great but good enough.
Amount of meat is no much for me to share unless she is really cute!

A co-worker told me about Fajitas (Dunlap & I-17), well, sad to say, it was OK at best.

I am still amazed with how tastey the fajitas (and steaks for that matter) tasted in most part of Texas. Even a very gringo chain-restaurant like Papasitas (Houston/Dallas) got fajitas so good that I have yet to find one that comes close (none in CA)!
I am hoping you guys can recommend a restaurant that has really good fajitas! I dont care if it is authentic or gringo style.
TurcoLoco- I am moving to Phoenix from Houston, and I agree- Pappasitos has the best fajitas! With their mantequilla and homemade tortillas you can't beat them! Oh yeah and their margaritas- yum. Oh, and if you ever get a chance to go back try the Riviera- spicy shrimp enchiladas. They are rich but oh so good! I am going to miss them.
