Wow, it is kind of odd. I was under the impression people were refraining from moving to Fla. because of the issues there with housing, insurance, taxes, employment, overcrowding, etc. Guess Hawaii would be nice, but not many of us can afford to live there.
I was curious about their category of 18-30 year olds being called "echo boomers". I have never heard that before.

Florida puzzles me as well. It was our first choice before moving to AZ, but the wind and insurance issues scared us away. It would be a paradise if it were not for those two things....and bugs.

It doesn't say people actually move to these places, just that they would like to. As such, it is a measure of perception. Perception and reality may be different. People are leaving California in large numbers, for example, even though the "California dream" seems alive and well. Overall, its seems that people prefer to live where the weather is warm or on a coast - that should not be news to anyone.

True. However, I'm under the impression that fewer people are moving out of Cali now that the real estate has risen so much in places that were once considered "affordable" such as, Phoenix, Orlando, Denver, Las Vegas.

Yes, you have to remember that Phoenix's housing boom (along with Nevada, Florida etc) was because the low cost of living was attractive. The housing boom has stopped because it's no longer cheaper to move to Phoenix compared with most places including Cali so people have stopped moving. When you factor in the now-high housing costs in metro Phoenix, Cali and other places are a better deal overall.
I don't trust any poll, they're so easily manipulated and heavily skewed, an opinion poll of the Republicans would be 0% in San Francisco and 100% in the Deep South so anyone can make any poll say what they want.

Doesn't it say Arizona and not specify Phoenix?
