Hi again all...its "been a while" since last post!!

Question:

Moving out of good 'ole Yuma, AZ and looking hard at the McKormick Ranch area (N. Scottsdale) for the my next place.

Well, I found a place I like(not McKormick Ranch)...actually, a few miles west of it...It's on Lincoln and almost at the 51.

The area is beautiful (in my opinion) ....but it seems as if the realtor isn't as excited for me about it...I dunno...funny feeling thing going on:

Although I found a place I really liked (at my max. budget) and told him to hash out the details with the owners, he keeps offering to show me other rental properties (none to which are his listings...and none are more $$$).....what gives??

I'm not buying a place here.....just a 6 month gig.

Thoughts on area?
Thoughts on realtor motives?

Glad to be back!!!!

It's McCormick, BTW.

Lincoln Dr almost at the 51 isn't in 85018, if I'm understanding your location correctly- the ZIP map doesn't show it going that far north and west. I've amended your thread title, as the location is really more important to get focused answers from people responding to you.

That said, I don't know of anything wrong with that area for a rental. I used to know someone who lived just north of Lincoln and east of the 51. Neighborhood nice, views great, location really convenient. As far as why your realtor doesn't seem enthusiastic about it, I couldn't begin to tell you. If it's really that noticeable, frankly, I'd ask the realtor.

I think Lincoln turns into Glendale Ave. around there(?). Either way, that's a really nice area. It's low crime, can be upper middle class and has really good mountain views. A way better central location than N. Scottsdale in my opinion.

It does, on the other (west) side of the 51.

yeah, just politely tell your realtor that you sense he/she is hesitant about something and ask if he has a concern.....you should be able to be frank and honest with a realtor

thanks observer for making better post/subject line

Glad to hear the area seems fine I do plan on asking him about the enthusiasm bit.

Also, my tentative location is east of SR 51 for what thats worth...around 38th street of I recall.

38th and Lincoln should be just fine, it's a bit further east of the 51 than I pictured, but it's still a very nice area.

That whole area is super nice. Your realtor should be enthusiastic for you

38th St would put you in (or on the border of) Paradise Valley. Doesn't get much better than that.
