There is a possibility we may be moving to Scottsdale. Can you tell me what towns have the best schools? (my son will be in 1st grade this fall) Which suburbs are the safest?

Thanks so much!

Scottsdale is a city in itself. If you are moving to Scottsdale itself, The logical choice would be Scottsdale schools. Scottsdale is a long, narrow city, it borders Phoenix for some distance, in the northern part of that area, you might be living in Paradise Valley School District, which has some good schools as well. We have open enrollment here, so if you provide the transportation, and there is room at the school you want, you don't have to have your kids attend school in the district where you live. There are no "towns" involved, unless you are moving all the way out near Fountain Hills.

Scottsdale IS a suburb of Phoenix, and is generally quite safe, although no place is crime free. You might want to look at a map of metro Phoenix, which is a very large, spread out area, and get an idea of the lay of the land. Phoenix is bordered by many suburbs; several of them, like Scottsdale, are large cities in themselves. I don't know where you are from, but the layout is not like "suburbs" in other parts of the country, where there is space in between.
