Default rental area

Hi all. I just got a job offer and will be relocating to PHX in a few weeks to work in the Glendale area. I am currently in semi-panic mode, as I have only been to town once (for the interview) and need a quick overview of where to rent a towhouse/apt/whatever.

This is what I ideally want:
* safe area, especially since I'll be traveling in this new job so out of town a bit
* easy commute, yet can be "away from it all" on the weekends
* ...but a place where there are things to do (I am single and 32)
* price range: up to $1400/month - but want a good value
* >= 2 bedrooms

Any suggestions? Good zip codes? Thanks so much !

85383. There is a very nice area around 83rd and Bell in N. Peoria. They have a ton of restaurants and places for young people to hang out. McDuffy's is very popular. I remember seeing some nice, newer apartment complexes around there.

You can check out N. Peoria like Motley Crew suggests, and Arrowhead Ranch area in N. Glendale. Some more zips are: 85382, 85308, 85306, 85310. However, the more NW you go the more family orientated it will be. N. Peoria is very family friendly, so it may not be what you're looking for.
