Angry Phoenix immigration office

The immigration system is very broken. My wife has been here for over 10 years legally and we have been trying for the last 5 to get her citizenship. My wife is disabled and so we requested a medical waiver because of her disibility and I cannot begin to tell you how rudely we have been treated by the idiots in the immigration system.I was born here and I have to say I am ashamed at the way our government treats people that try to jump through the immigration hoops legally, after spending thousands of dollars and having a stack of medical documentation our last request was denied.
When we went to our last hearing there was only 2 people attempting to become legaal citizens at the immigration office and we were there over 2 hours, we overheard the guards talking about how noone was scheduled at all to come in the next day!!!!!

INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) is supposed to process requests for legal status changes for those wanting to become legal residents and citizens of this country. You must apply for an appointment to see an immigration officer and then in many cases you wait over a year for that appointment.

Good ol' INS... doesn't exist anymore per se... not under this name. In my home country we say - if you have nothing good to say about somebody, say nothing, so I'll say almost nothing... Even in the good ol' days the office in Phoenix was notorious. The waiting time for AOS was like 5 years. Can't imagine it got any better. Good luck!

Contact your congressman.

He/she may not be of much help though... seems they are more interested these days in aiding those that violate immigration law and are in the country illegally than helping those in the nation legally.
