You need to click the map in the area outside the "metro area" box. Also note the note that says not all gauges are displayed due to space considerations and tells you what to click to see them all.

Default Phoenix Climate/Weather

I just got out of the valley and it was so hot and humid that it felt like a 107F jungle. The temperature was showing 107F and the Dew Point was at 65F. I was literally drenched in sweat from standing outside for only 5 minutes. It was even hard to breathe and I could not cool off because of the humidity.

I told my friend, "dry heat my behind."

Phoenix's summers are hot and humid, completely miserable weather wise. Wow, I have never felt such an oppressive heat that I had felt today in the valley. The Dew Point really makes it completely miserable.

Oh, goody, another heat thread.

Yes, it's been more uncomfortable the last few days, but hardly worth starting another thread over. Drying out the rest of the week. The dew point isn't always that high. You've obviously not spent much time in heat waves in the east or southeast if this is the most oppressive heat you've ever felt. We know you don't like Phoenix for reasons other than the heat- you don't live here, after all.

The official high at 2pm was 101, so I don't know where you might have been that was 107 earlier unless you are embellishing. You wouldn't do that now, would you?

It's 102 degrees with a 68 degree dewpoint here in Detroit. Oh and we have 7 months of cold, gray, hell too. Just sayin!

I agree with the OP. During the monsoon, it's really a bad heat. I've lived here my whole life and I still don't like this kind of weather.

Unbeknownst to most who think Phoenix is "dry and hot", the mild monsoon July-Sept. is essentially the kind of summer weather most of the rest of the continent has to contend with. Due to the wind shifts we get humidity. Generally speaking the humidity here works in inverse proportion to the temperature during July-Sept so the unpleasant feeling is consistent; either hot and dry days or the truer monsoon days where it's relatively cooler with higher humidity. Even at it's worst, the humidity here isn't bad here relative to the rest of the country, but with higher temps it's equally unpleasant.

Anyone who misses the summers elsehwere, look no further.
