Dew point at 65..meh,let me know when it hits 75 then you'll have something to complain about. Last week we had 3 days of 98 and dew points were 73-75,even rite now as I type this the temps are only 79 but the dew point is 74. Must be hell living in that jungle there.

Um, I am grateful for the monsoon, especially when we get rain! Last night some friends and I sat outside enjoying the cooler temps and the nice breeze. Sure, it's a bit more humid, but still not nearly as bad as what I experienced back in the North and Southeast.

After being in Phoenix yesterday and flying home to Illinois last night and in the 100+ heat here today...I can honestly say it felt much better in Phoenix.

The big difference is that while it is hot in Phoenix at least you don't feel like you are sufficating the way it is in Illinois today.

Oh and getting to experience some rain in Glendale saturday night the first rainfall in a month for us was awesome...lol

We just marked our first year here in desert. We moved here knowing the summers are hot and the monsoons bring humidity. It's odd that people know this and yet complain. I've spent summer in Florida and that is much worse. Its always humid there.

we love it here!

The OP lives in Prescott so he can retreat to higher ground. :-)

I told my friend, "dry heat my behind."

Phoenix's summers are hot and humid, completely miserable weather wise. Wow, I have never felt such an oppressive heat that I had felt today in the valley. The Dew Point really makes it completely miserable.
Thank you for your comments! I laugh when people in Phoenix say 'everybody wants to move here because its a dry heat and we have such good weather.' The irony is.....its all false and a marketing ploy to get people to move there. Truth be told, Phoenix has the absolute worst climate in the country for a majority of the year. I used to work at US Airways as a flight attendant. In the summer, Phoenix had more flight delays (heat related) than any city. The summer heat always affected the airplane's air conditioning. There is nothing worse then being on a hellishly hot airplane.....with no AC.....and very angry passengers as a result. It happened all the time! Phoenix was our least popular crew hub, because of the heat and so many people wanted to transfer elsewhere. I am glad you saw around the nonsense because most people dont. But I wont have to put up with Phoenix much longer.

Did you just copy and paste that from one of your previous posts or did you actually take the time to write that out AGAIN.
Good luck on your move and don't let the door.............well, you know the rest.
The weather here is much better than most of the country. You seem to neglect the wonderful winters we have here and one of the many reasons people, LOTS OF PEOPLE choose to move here and/or choose to spend their winters here.

Bottomline is that if someone wants room temperature year around, move to San Diego. I think San Diego is great and if that is someone's top priority, pack a Uhaul and drive 5 hours. However, I plan on sticking here indefinitely and will deal with a few months of excessive heat for the 7 months of perfect temps outside of May through August. I agree that the umpteen threads discussing the summer heat are becoming redundant just in the past few months alone.

I've briefly discussed Prescott and No AZ topics with Dellnec and feel he's a valuable contributor to this forum. Prescott does have ideal summers of temps around 90 and lows around 60. However, the winters can be cold at night with temps in the teens and good for a few heavy snowfalls. Sometimes in April. Definitely more of the 4 seasons above 5000 feet but the drawback is people who are used to PHX weather will complain when it's 20 on a January morning and having to shovel a foot of snow like a lot of us did back East before leaving for work.

It's all relative and again, if you want drama free weather, move to San Diego. end of story.
