I kind of doubt that, unless he was actually threatening you with the baseball bat.

A guy with a baseball bat that had recently confronted you about the way you parked your cars and damaged your vehicles on purpose would be considered a threat by any rational person.

Do you think vandalism is a reasonable response? Once you start with that kind of stuff, it is very likely to lead to someone's funeral.

Agreed. But a guy with a baseball bat who accidently damaged your car while actually playing baseball might not be considered threatening by a reasonable person. Or twelve of them. Not something Id want to bet my freedom on.

I agree . . . looks crappy, is crappy.

Out of curiosity, HX . . . are there any "street parking restrictions" in the CC&R's? If so, that would indicate the streets are privately owned and maintained, not city streets so the HOA should be responsible.

Just a quick call to the non-emergency line of the local pd will take care of this. Parking like that is never legal on a public street- wheels have to be no more than 12" from the curb.
The cops wont tell who complained, and they may only issue warnings the first time.

We can all thank the builders for trying to win the contest. Who can build the most homes in a SQ. mile. I've noticed in many cul-de-sacs there is only room for maybe 2 cars parked in the street, and 7-8 houses have to share with it.
Here in the Phoenix area 99% of homes have NO basement for storage. So all that goes into the garage, thus requiring the cars that should be parked in the garage be parked in the SHORT driveway. Now if anybody visits that person must park in the street. Any suggestions on how to park in that situation?
BUT it all comes down to who forced any of us to live where we are living?

I never got the garage storage thing. Why do people have so much stuff that it needs to be stored in the garage? I mean we have cabinets in the garage and do have some things in there, but once you start storing furniture and mattresses and all sort of other stuff...what's the point, if they are in there, then you probably don't use them and won't, it's just hoarding.

I could not agree more, HX . . .

Far too often we see garages chocked full of worthless, useless junk while vehicles worth $20k, $30k or $40k and up are sitting out in the elements depreciating even faster, not to mention blatantly tempting the car thieves.

Absolutely mind-boggling!

What happened to just minding your own business and leaving people alone? Let's face it, the way a neighbor parks their cars is not causing you any kind of problem unless you have some type of mental health issues and obsess about being able to force others to do what you want.
Wow. Are you kidding? Yeah, I was totally serious. It was absolutely not a joke. I want him to head out right now with a baseball bat and hit some balls at his neighbor's cars. That's sound advice, and it's a valuable, productive, mature way to solve the problem And yeah, killing a guy who's simply playing baseball in the street, with no evidence of negative intent, is absolutely a legal use of deadly force... In what world? Maybe we should all tell people not to carry baseball bats around in public, lest someone shoot them and claim self-defense

As well, it's my business when it effects my life. That parking would effect my life. Hence, it's my business. Perhaps those of us who'd prefer not to have a used car lot in front of our house suffer from "mental health issues," as you so kindly proclaimed, or perhaps we feel we pay money to an HOA for a reason, we'd like our neighborhood to look decent, and we don't want to have to drive through an obstacle course to get home every evening. I'm going with the latter
