We will be moving from Houston and moving to Elliott and McClintock I think it is called.
What is the BEST way to get to 24th and camelback. How long a commute am I looking at?
THANKS!

Take the 101 north from Elliot to the 202, then 202 west (which merges with I-10) to the 51 (near downtown Phoenix) take the 51 north to Highland Ave. Exit on Highland, turn right, go about 1/4 of a mile to 20th Street, turn left on 20th Street to go north to Camelback, then right on Camelback to 24th Street.

If traffic seems really bad, try going west on Elliot to I-10, then I-10 to SR51. Or north to U.S.60, west to I-10. It should only take one or two trips through the "Broadway Curve" to make you realize the first route isn't so bad after all. If you're lucky enough to travel during non-peak hours though, the U.S.60/I-10 route is actually not a bad choice.
One other suggestion: Be sure you and your husband get familiar with the surface streets between home and work. Fortunately, there are many "Plan-B's" to choose from when the need arises.

Coming from Houston, you will most likely find the traffic in Phoenix to be a breeze! Especialy if you were anywhere on the west side of Houston and had to drive into downtown during rush hour.

If you take the i10(W) to 51(N) get off at Camelback your right at 24th street. Your looking at an hour during rush hour.
I drive from Elliot and i10 to 7th street exit and it takes me 45mins. Going home takes me an hour. I tried taking regular streets and it takes me just as long. Go figure. Keep in mind this leaving at 7am and getting out of work at 5pm.

Slight correction LG, the 51 does not take you directly to 24th Street and Camelback. The exit and entrance to the 51, to and from Camelback, is a little awkward. The northbound exit will get you on Highland, which is about a 1/4 mile south of Camelback and 1/4 mile east of 20th Street. There are 2 shopping malls on 20th Street and Camelback and I believe the city could not purchase land to put the exit and Access directly on Camelback when that stretch of the 51 was built in 1990.
To get on the southbound lanes, you can also use Highland, but in the evening rush hour, be prepared for a long traffic line.
