Question Help with choosing the Right Area for my Family Please ?

Hello to all:
I will be relocating to Phoenix AZ soon because of my job and need a little help with areas to stay away from. I have found a gem of a house in Phoenix AZ on West Florence AV. Would like to no is this a good area for a family ? I travel a lot with job so as you can understand not trying to leave my wife and son in any bad areas. I have been out to Phoenix many years ago and really looks like a great town with lots of opportunity to grow. Any help any one can proved would be helpful in this matter . Thanks again ....

E. London

Cross streets?

Where will you be working? It's always wise to take the commute time into account when house hunting.

Well we would need more information. Florence Ave runs east to west just south of Lower Buckeye Rd(major rd). Any where on Lower Buckeye Rd isn't a good area at all really. It's very industrial and run down in most parts until you get into the western suburbs(Tolledon, Avondale, Goodyear)where it becomes more residential. As far as safe goes you dont have to limit yourself to just one area. There are several areas where the safety of your family won't be a concern. However without knowing your budget and other factors it's hard to offer you suggestions.

What the block to the nearest 1000? or the cross streets? This is a big, big place and there is no real good side, bad side. It is all jumbled up. So you have to be more specific.

If your are talking Sky Harbor then I'd say don't look west of the airport.

What are the cross streets near the home you are interested in? We can't advise as to the neighborhood without more detail.

The Phoenix metro area is vast and sprawling, with more than four million residents. We have many existing threads about good and bad neighborhoods. Much of it depends on personal preferences, including budget, lifestyle, interests, etc. There are great areas in Tempe, north Phoenix (near the 51), and Ahwatukee that would be smooth commutes into Sky Harbor. You can check crime stats online, as well.

You should perhaps look in Chandler. Gilbert might be an option as well if you don't mind the commute.

The Location of the home I am looking at is just south of Lower Buckeye Rd and S 83rd st. ( on the map it seems to be on the other side of Southwest Farm Services) .

It's not 83rd St, but must be 83rd Ave or Dr.

I think you could find something closer to your work in a better area than that.
