I purchase DemandCS from www.doityourselfpestcontrol Have done it since I learned that Burns uses it. Works really well. Got a sprayer and go around the house outside and inside the garage two-three times a year. Bugs including scorps, roaches, etc are all DEAD.

I did my own for 20+ years and used whatever Do It Yourself Pest Control recommended. When I moved into the current house in 2006 I started using one of the larger companies (I should not identify them but all of the their vehicles are the same color). After 4 years I concluded that what they were doing was not effective and bought Ortho Home Defense at the nearby Ace Hardware. I have been doing that for nearly two years with no problems. I would go to a place like DIY again if I ran into issues.

Having young cats helps! Mine are old and getting a bit lazy...they will definitely play with crickets, but they no longer have that killer instinct! Half of the time I have to get up and finish off the job! heh.

As for spray, I use this brand called EcoSmart. It's supposed to be safe for the environment, kids, and all that, but who knows? The FDA also approved PhenPhen once upon a time...so you never know. But one added bonus, the stuff smells GREAT- in fact, it smells just like cinnamon. Thus, even if you get a bit of a cough afterwards, even if there's a bit of toxicity to it, it smells so good that it's not a bad way to suffer. I think it works ok...but I noticed that after a rain, I need to respray around the perimeter immediately, because the crickets go nuts after a heavy rain!

Not sure about roaches...I've only seen one since I've been here in Phoenix, and I've been here a little over 10 years! No scorps, no ants...YET!!! (fingers crossed). Good luck!

I strongly advise going to doityourselfpestcontrol on Thunderbird. Very helpful folks there.

I paid people to spray for years. When I do it myself I spray about DOUBLE what they did and do a much better job.

And I know what I'm spraying isn't watered down.

I have NOT HAD GOOD LUCK in this town paying people to do things for me.
