Recently moved to the Phoenix area and need to find an apartment that is pitbull friendly. I will be working off of N 73rd Ave and I would like to get something as close to that as possible, but I understand that I will likely need to be flexible due to the pooch.

P.S. I know there was a thread with this very same topic once upon a time, but it became impossible to gather any information from it due to everybody needing to throw in their 2 cents about pitbulls. So if you have anything to say about my choice of dog breed (for or against) please do everybody a favor and keep it to yourself.

Well, you didn't specify the cross-street of 73rd Ave, but if your talking about the Maryvale 73rd Ave area, then I would start your search by calling around to these apartment complexes:

*Emerald Shores 7151 West Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85033 call: (602) 734-0031
*Del Mar Terrace 7007 West Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85033 call: (602) 734-0354
*San Marina 7002 West Indian School Rd Phoenix, AZ 85033 Call (866) 836-9014
*Parkwood 6751 West Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85033 call: (623) 696-3699

Take into consideration that a lot of apartment complexes in this area may have an "official policy" on dogs (and other things), but really turn a blind eye to everything as long as you pay the rent on time...(If you consider that unethical, don't shoot the messenger, I'm just sayin' )

Or you could try craigslist too, you can actually search by listings that accept dogs...Good luck!

You can also try an apartment locating service. Free to you. You give your variables/needs and they find you an apartment!

And, when it comes time to get renter's insurance, State Farm seems to be the most lenient with regard to pit bulls.
