I really like that smooth stucco finish as well, you usually do see it on higher end homes, and unfortunately this isn't one of those. The stucco on our house is called "Monterey finish", it's similar to the one you posted but maybe not quite as rough? Here is a picture from another house currently under construction (the bottom unpainted area gets a stone veneer).

Interesting, stucco finishes down there are painted to the chosen color. I always thought all stucco was simply colored with pigments to achieve the desired color. My house in Canada is colored with pigment the color has held up over 20 years.
