The land of "terrible snow" would be Buffalo or perhaps your own Flagstaff, not Chicago.

Enjoy the land of "terrible heat/sun"... happy skin cancer!

Sounds ridiculous, doesnt it?

Yes, it does sound ridiculous as the vast majority of people in AZ will never get skin cancer. Everyone in Chicago gets to endure the gray skies, snow and my favorite, the salt encrusted car.

Yeah, who shovels anymore. That's what snowblowers are for, and they're actually kind of cool to run. Nothing like BLASTING your way through the snow and throwing it 30 feet.

Plus, if you live in an apartment or a condo in an urban area, other people do all the snow clearing for you. The dislike of snow is pretty overrated if you ask me.

Chicago is by far one of the best cities in the country d-iron (if you can afford it). Good luck!

And everyone in AZ gets to "enjoy" 6 months of 100 degrees and up, endless and brutal sunshine, deadly snakes and cracked dashboards from the heat. Not to mention the nice sand-blasting from your lovely duststorms.

No place is perfect to live, we all know that. Ill never trade my soft grass and changing seasons for a harsh environment like AZ. Thats just my opinion.... move on.

And its not like you guys dont have gray skies, dont try and convince anyone different. 2 years ago I was down in January for almost a week and it was NASTY (windy, rainy and cold) 4 of the 5 days. And not soon after I left you guys got snow. Give it a rest, you dont have Miami's winters.

So "lovely"...

Being bored in Phoenix? I can totally relate! You can go to Mill Ave, maybe 2 or 3 times and then what? You can go to Scottsdale Rd to check out all the 30 K millionaires driving their leased BMW's maybe 2, 3 times, then what? Even Old Town Scottsdale can be seen in a couple hours. It is that bland, soulless, cookie cutter feeling that makes this city so boring. Before I moved out of Phoenix, I would make plans to go on highway trips every weekend, just because there was nothing to do. Have you done that? Take a trip to Flagstaff, it is a neat drive. You can visit the Indian reservations, Canyon de Chelly, Petrified Forest, etc. Most of the good things Arizona has to offer are outside of Phoenix

This isn't surprising, boring people are easily bored. Most of the interesting people I know could have a great time walking through a cornfield. Less interesting people need a pre-packaged "scene" handed to them.

Snow is novelty here, and it typically only happens in the higher elevations of North Scottsdale/Carefree. It's never snowed in the lower portions of the Valley in the 10 years I have been here. We do get a week or so of cold nasty weather in the Winter every year or two. You get about 7 months of cold nasty weather every year. Have Fun !

7 months? What are you smoking? It doesnt snow until late November usually, and from then until mid March are the ONLY months we can get any kind of significant snowfall (and a significant snowfall of several inches only happens a few times). That makes a solid 4 months of winter weather.

My point was, it DOES snow in AZ, especially higher up. You guys cannot be on the beach in winter, like in Miami, so quit trying to convince the world that your weather is so great there, its not! 1/2 the year is hellishly hot, the rest of the year is mild to downright cold (and rainy), not warm like you guys make it out to be. You want a warm winter? Go to Key West.

It doesn't need to snow in Chicago to be nasty, 39 and drizzle does the trick. I'm thankful that we don't have Florida's winters, I enjoy the crisp evenings and sitting around an outdoor fireplace having a few drinks with friends. As to the hellish heat, I'm sorry you can't handle it, many of us can.
