And its not like you guys dont have gray skies, dont try and convince anyone different. 2 years ago I was down in January for almost a week and it was NASTY (windy, rainy and cold) 4 of the 5 days. And not soon after I left you guys got snow. Give it a rest, you dont have Miami's winters.

So "lovely"...

It is "lovely" and you know it. A rare desert snow is a magical thing that excites us all. Kinda like a warm (above freezing), sunny January day where you live.

Default Rather than pointing out the exaggerations, here's some actual data....

Rather than point out all the exaggerations and laughable comments (such as 6 months of 100 degree weather), I thought you might be interested in seeing actual data on Phoenix weather. Then people can make informed decisions for themselves. I'm sorry the data isn't lined up, but you can still tell what the data is telling you because it is the numbers that tell the story.

And to be fair, the historical data on Chicago. Some things measured are different (of course) because for example why would they track "Average Number of Days Below 5/-15C Years on Record" for Phoenix - there would be --- all the way across.

You could certainly plug the data into Excel (or something), if you wanted to and do a compare, but I thought that would just be too cruel, so I didn't do it for you.

Lets see.... May, Jun, July, August and September are near or above the 100 degree mark. And thats just average temps. There have been several occasions where Ive been in PHX in October and it was at or above 100 degrees. Lets not mention the 33 days of 110+ that PHX recorded this year.

With that being said, PHX and CHI each possess about 5 months of nice temps, 5 months of bad temps and 2 months of hellish temps.

Dude, how did this thread go from discussing things to do in PHX to what the weather diffs are between Chi-town and PHX? Bottom line is there are plenty of things to do in PHX. You just have to find what interests you. That goes for any city.
