He was Indian for crying out loud! People don't even know the difference between an Indian and an Arab. They gunned him down in his store out of hatred for middle easterners. People haven't woken up here either as far as the 9/11 thing. They do not realize that the country was lied into a war-no an illegal occupation with a third world country. They don't even care or know that we have killed HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS. Many of whom are children. They don't want to know. They don't care.
When you see a map of the states that show which states are blue vs. red in elections-choose the blue states when choosing where to live if racism is your main issue. You will encounter it everywhere I am afraid as no place is truly red or truly blue (using these terms very loosely as there are kind "red" people and unkind "blue" people as well). Good luck to you.

Nana the political forum is down the road. There's plenty of folks in that forum that love listening to that crap.

There's always red China, I bet you like that kind of red

I didn't know blue states didn't have racist, good to know. I'll tell my husband and kids.

You are correct though an Indian clerk was gunned down for wearing a turbin.

I still remember that Indian Sikh guy that was gunned down in Mesa some time after 9/11 because he wore a turban. The ignorant dumbass thought that he was a Muslim because of his turban and killed him thinking that he was killing someone like Bin Laden. I find the Phoenix metro area to be much more racist than other places because White supremacists are just there. Having lived in Minnesota, New Mexico, Connecticut and New York, I had never seen White supremacists until I actually moved to Phoenix. They gather at parks openly and also there is a lot of biker gangs. I guess, the problem with Phoenix is that there is just too much human trash in this metro area. IMO, Phoenix is much more racist than just about any Midwest-Northeastern town I have ever lived in.

I just want you to know that if racism is your main concern, it is something to consider. This is also my opinion. I am "white" and I feel slightly unsafe here-so not sure how I would feel if I were also worried about hate crimes. I am only trying to help. I am not steering you away due to any other reason.

Too bad you only decided to read part of my response. Please reread the part about nice red people and not nice blue people and also that these were general terms.

IMO, you are correct. There are a lot of people here who do not tolerate other races. It is a shame and is why I wanted to paint a picture that is a bit more realistic.

I truly believe that White supremacists and other human garbage hate groups from Idaho and the Pacific NW did not choose Phoenix randomly. It is obvious that they choose a place where they are going to find like minded people. I don't think such groups would have chosen a place like Albuquerque, New Mexico. Their BS simply would not fly there

It must make for a long day thinking "THEY" are out to get you.

As far as racism goes in the Phx area, it exists as everywhere. On the whole, I'd say Phx is pretty accepting and a welcoming place to live.

But aren't the skinheads like just ten guys in a Mesa garage somewhere? I think the general population in Phoenix HATES the skinheads, they are such idiots. To me, I don't see any discrimination around here.
