Yes, I would say that Hana is better than Sakana. The rolls are smaller and pricier, but also tastier. I actually think Sakana isnt as good as it once used to be, at least the one on 59th and 101. Their rolls are freaking huge and I dont really like that...they seem to use the crab mix in almost every roll and they overfill with it while putting very little of other ingredients like cucumber or avocado. It's still tasty but I wish they would go back to the old recipes.

Disagree with this one unless the OP goes to the Garcia's on 35th Ave ONLY. It's the only one still operated by the family.

Definitely go to Spinato's for pizza, Sardella's is also good.

Garcia's on 35th Ave was the most tasteless, bland Mexican food I've ever had. As a whole, I've been surprised with all the bad Mexican food we have here. Los Reyes De La Torta was good though.

I know you wanted specific recommendations, but you can also check www.yelp.com and see if the ratings there, match the comments here. Bon appetit!

They just open a Los Reyes de la Torta in Tempe @ McClintock/Southern. I went there yesterday and had the best torta I ever had.

OP you are close to where I live. My husband and I go to Ocho Locos in Anthem for Mexican food about every other weekend with our kids. We like it. I also like Oregano's for pizza, now open by Paradise Valley mall. (My husband doesn't care for the pizza, but likes the sandwiches). You didn't ask about Italian, but there is a great little restaurant on Deer Valley Road west of the 17 called Time's Square..it's the best I have found in the area. It's a large valley, you could eat a someplace different every night of the month. lol

If buffet is ok with you, you can try Jamine Tokyo. On 7000 E Shea Blvd. They have shrimp tempura.
