Hi Marshmello,
I have lived in this area for 5 years now and have to say that is the best kept secret around. Superb location and minutes from the new CityNorth development, Desert Ridge, Kierland, and we are in the acclaimed PV School district. What's more is the fact that we use a Scottsdale postal zip, but are really in Phoenix.. Phoenix utilities, services, and taxes!

Dollar for dollar, the area can't be beat, and the neighborhoods, especially around Jackrabbit park are really well maintained and very friendly.

Words of advice:

The closer you are to SCOTTSDALE (not Phoenix with a Scottsdale "mailing" address) the better off you will be in that area. Good luck to you!

Unfortunately, 99.9 % of all apartment conversions stink. I know, I've leased them! Do not buy in a converted complex, it is not worth your time or money. But a home instead.

Default Homes are the way to go..

I would have to agree with Londonbarcelona..
If you can afford to buy a home, now is the perfect time to do it..
Plus, you could always look at a patio home or townhouse.. There are some nice complexes right around 60th street and Bell..

85254 is a great area, close to lots of shopping..Kierland, Desert Ridge, PV Mall all minutes away. My commute is 20 minutes to work down Tatum to 44th St and Camelback. The homes are older, but if you like a little character to your neighborhood(ie not every home is identical), wider streets and BIG lots then this is the place to be. I personally can not stand the stucco box, 6 feet apart homes in most of the newer subdivisions.

Sounds like my kind of place. Will put on the list of places to check out. If we have time, we plan to do a bit more looking around. We should be back to Phoenix in mid-May.

85254 is in Phoenix but just a Scottsdale mailing address. Moved there as a young teen in '81. Very nice zip

Default Christmas Decor

I am really frustrated lately by the amount of Christmas Decor destruction going on in my neighborhood this year. I went out to turn off my lights this morning, only to find them scattered and broken down the street. My air blown Frosty slashed.

I live in a great area (85254), but this is really getting out of hand.

I used to live in the 85254 area, apartments behind the Home Depot on Tatum and Bell. The area has a lot of drug related crimes, but still appears to be a very nice neighborhood.
