hello, I am 17 and and I will be moving summer to az, we will likely be going to one of these schools, but my mother is letting me have some sort of a say if I gather up some info, so how are these schools academically, are they diverse (I am black/white), are the students good, or unruly, and some other helpful info, thank you all

Hi Leroy: Its great your mom is letting you make some choices! Your question is pretty difficult to answer as each high school has so many variables and much of your success will depend on your own attitude. If you want to be successful and popular or liked, you will need to develop a friendly outgoing presence and willingness to deal with all sorts of kids. I believe that, in itself, will help you academically, rather than the name of the particular school. Black/white doesn't make one bit of difference. AND there are unruly kids everywhere. Not to worry. You will be fine no matter which school you choose.

Hi Leroy! All three schools are good. I had one daughter graduate from Mountain Pointe, and my youngest is currently attending Corona del Sol. I know students who attend Desert Vista. Academically they are all solid. Anything else?

Thanks to those who replied, the main reason i added the diversity thing was just because when i used to live in AZ (scottsdale) which is not to diverse, the school i went to i was called some pretty racial slurs... So i kinda figured at a school that was diverse would be more open to more ethnic backgrounds. thanks again

You will find that part of the Phoenix area, and those schools,to be fairly diverse in terms of different racial/ethnic backgrounds. You might find some statistics on the district website or elsewhere.

You will find Corona Del Sol to be the most diverse. Mountain Pointe and Desert Vista are over 95% white for the 2012-2013 school year.
