And you know, I almost don't want to say anything, but I find that first phrase quite offensive. If I entered a discussion and prefaced my post by writing "Some of you black people just don't get it!" that would probably be viewed as a rather racist thing to say. Why is it OK to generalize about a group based on their skin color? Why is the validity of my opinion of race discounted because I'm white? All that is accomplishing is further dividing us and making it that much harder to move past skin color as a defining characteristic.

Trying to tie this back into the original topic, I moved here from a rather diverse OH suburb with a comparatively larger Asian and African American population base, and despite Scottsdale being quite a bit "whiter," I haven't encountered any more racism or negative attitudes towards minorities than in my hometown. So while it may not be quite a diverse in terms of racial makeup, the "live and let live" attitude that is common in AZ means everyone is quite accepting.

Dude, you're the only one that's made racist comments in this thread. No one told you to get over anything.

This thread has gone WAY beyond a local issue of diversity in Scottsdale. Take the broad discussion to the appropriate forum.
