ARGGHHH!!!! Where were those girls when I worked there?!?!

I remember that pool, cleaned it a time or two. There was a wood deck adjacent to the southeast. That was no fun, as the brads were working their way out. Brads, not deck screws. Spent all day once tapping them back in so the people in their disco shoes wouldn't trip.

We used to drive Cushman carts and there was always a race to see who could get them going the fastest on the downhill. One day the tennis pro, driving a Daihatsu, lost his brakes and cruised out into McDonald. He jumped as he entered the roadway. No injuries except to his pride, no traffic on McDonald at the time.

I had an 8-track in my Camaro, 1978-1979... I keep this at my desk, and the kids (30-somethings) who work for me have no idea what it is.

I can't see it clearly but that looks like classic Fleetwood Mac.

Did you click on the picture? It's pretty big when it opens. 8-track of 1977's "Rumours". My wife found it in her parents' attic, it was hers as a teenager. I unloaded all my 8-tracks (Foghat, Cheap Trick, Molly Hatchet, Speedwagon, AC/DC, etc) when I upgraded to cassettes in 1980. It would have been heresy to have an 8-track instead of metal-tape cassettes when I was installing car stereos, summer of 1981 at 21st Century in Tempe. The systems I installed were nothing like the bass-booming, window-shaking 1000-watt installs of today.

This is the old Phoenix municipal Stadium on 1st Street and Mohave. it was torn down in the early 60's. I lived not far from there and my Dad and I would walk over watch the baseball games, some wrestling and roller derby.

Oh yeah! I must admit that a couple of years ago I purchased Rumours on cd...I've had it on vinyl, cassette and now cd...guess I liked that one.

This photo is from about 1940 and only says Arizona on the back but could be up in Sunnyslope I suppose. The guy's name is Joe and he pumps anything and sharpens blades..... and could really use a dictionary.

YES! My dad and mom used to pack us in our Chevy Impala on summer nights and take us there to see all the spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. We would fall asleep in the back of the car all the time.
